In the story every house in Woolsthorpe Manner is echoed with love and laughter of children . But the house of James is resounded by pets. They feel for children, inorder to look after them in their old age . ofcourse they need somebody to look after them in their old age . But animals are more lovable, trustworthy, and faithful.Where is the guarantee that the children take care of their parents? sometimes ,it does not work that way. the children fly away from their parents like the young birds ,when they learn how to fly
with their new wings. But the pets remain with their master till their last breath.AS an example ,
Ican give the example of my friends father. he used tend a horse and he is very much attached to his horse. As long as he is prosperous ,he had no problem in taking care of the horse. It is only when he lost his property, it has become inevitable to him to part with the horse. As result of that ,he gave his horse to his cousin who is in good position and also has the interest to take care of the horse. One day he took the horse and kept it in his stable .But the horse could no longer stay in the stable .It managed to run away from that place. It swam over a river and was standingat his master,s house shedding tears. This is the faith exhibited by the horse towards the master. On the contrary there are many incidents that tellthe ungratefulness of the children.

The beginning is so forboding and a little creepy, and then the story veers towards a more melancholy way.
It's interesting, but where's the rest of it ?

V.C's WINTER'S DAUGHTER (Continued)

For them pets are pleasant but children are more wonderful. When the wife desired for child intensively the husband tried to divert her attention to other way. Both of them began to sit near the window and watch the neighboring children play on the road .Sometimes they came out of their house and enjoy the games of the children As the old couple began to participate in the playful activities of the children they loved children of other families. They also heard mothers singing their babies to sleep. The desire to have a baby of their own touched the hearts of the couple deeply. When Julia began to suffer inwardly. James could not, but to think seriously to make his wife happy.
James: How nice it is to look at the children that play along the road!
Julia: Ah! Dear, I too love to see them running and playing games in summer and winter.
James: I too. Sometimes they also come into the garden and play.
Julia: But, what is of use now. We had no child, to bring up.
James: Look, dear! How the children play snowball fights, loud with laughter even in winter.
Julia: How lovely and lively the innocent the children are!
James: Look. The children make dolls and pets with snow.
Julia: They do and undo the dolls of snow in playful activity like potters.
James: Dear. God is also a potter and all humans are pots.
Julia: What do you mean?
James: Yes, dear. I am sure that children are also like angels.
Julia: How lucky if were to have a child of my own!
James: Don’t worry lovely. I have an idea in my mind.
Julia: what is it? Tell me dear.
James: Wait. An idea flickered in my mind.
Julia: Tell me quickly. I can’t wait for a single minute
James: Imagine, I am a potter. If I were to make a girl of snow in the garden.
Julia: Then, what?
James: If it might become alive, our desire may be real.
Julia: How?
James: the live doll of snow will be our own at last.
Julia: What a wonderful idea it is! The flash of your idea would solve our problem.
Julia: Then let us try to make a snow girl.
Both the man and woman went into the garden slowly and secretly. They began rolling the snow to make a snow girl. They worked with love and great care. They hoped that angels will come to help them. Where there is will, there is a way. Within no time they made a perfect little girl of snow with blind white eyes and closed lips
James: Look dear, how lovely it is!
Julia: Marvelous.
James: If it would move and speak?
Julia: Let us pray God to bestow life in the doll.
James: See dear, the doll began to move .Look how she starts speaking!
Julia: Wow! Most incredible and excellent.
James: Look dear. Her eyes shine blue as clear skies.
Julia: Ah! Ah! Her lips became red and she smiled and her teeth are white.
James: Wow! She sings a song.
Julia: Let us name her.
Julia: Fleecy is her name.
Fleecy: I laugh and leap, night and day
Summer is my time for sleep
I am fleecy, winter’s daughter.
James: How wonderful she is! Let us wrap her in warm clothes.
Julia: Take this cover.
James: put on fur bonnet and red boots
Fleecy: I feel warm inside. I must out in cold.
Julia: Dear. Don’t go out...it is bed time.
Fleecy: I don’t need sleep. I want to play with other children.
The man and wife couldn’t stop her from playing in the snow. They watch her dancing in the moonlight and starlight. Fleecy’s food was ice, kept in a bowl. They had admiration for Fleecy who played with other children. The children also loved to play with her. Fleecy ate snow and threw snowballs at one another. People watched Fleecy at her game
Julia: Fleecy is our own.
James: She is our little white dove.
Julia: Dear, put on the fur coat. Fleecy.
I laugh and leap,
Summer is my time for sleep.
Fleecy grew up in ice and snow. She enjoyed the fall of snow flakes. She did whatever the old woman said. Spring started and the snow melted a little. Fleecy and other children went into the nearby woods. But children were afraid to follow Fleecy. Fleecy climbed a tree to see well. Her friends left her. Fleecy started crying. There is no one to help her. But one brown bear heard her voice. He came near to her and asked her why she was crying. After knowing the reason, he wanted to see her home. As there was no other way to Fleecy, she started to walk along with the bear. On the way the bear molested
Fleecy .She was crying. Now Priam the son of the Sun-god heard the voice of Fleecy .He came and found her with the bear. . When Priam drew the sword the bear ran away leaving Fleecy. It was young Priam, the son of Sun. He came near Fleecy. He saw her and loved her.
Priam: Hey! How are you my sweet damsel?
Fleecy: I am Fleecy, the girl of snow.
Priam: I am the son of sun.
Fleecy: I am lost. It is night time. My parents are waiting for me.
Priam: Do not worry, I am with you. Why do you cry?
Fleecy: I am afraid of being lost and more afraid of strangers like you.
Priam: I am no stranger but your soul in discursion. and see you home.
Fleecy: Thank you. I am not afraid of you now.
Priam: Fleecy, I love you deeply.
Fleecy: Even I too. But you must ask my parents.
Priam: Let us go.
Both left the place hand in hand. On the way Fleecy and Priam played on the ice and snow. The lovers enjoyed themselves. At home the man and woman were worried for Fleecy. When they saw Fleecy they were happy.
Fleecy: here I am .Priam saw me home. I was lost in the thick forest.
James: We thank you, Priam.
Priam: Iam in love with Fleecy.
Julia: What …?
Priam: I would like to marry her.
Julia; What about Fleecy?
Fleecy: I love Priam as well.
James: Fleecy, think of it carefully.
Fleecy: No doubt, I will be with him.
James: what about Pram’s parents?
Priam: I am sure; my Dad will accept the proposal.
James: Let your father come and speak with us.
Fleecy: It doesn’t look nice to ask Priam to bring his father.
James: Why not, Fleecy?
Fleecy: I think you do not love me really.
Julia: No, dear. We love you well. Fleecy: Why do you put such a condition?
Priam: Fleecy, I will go and bring my Dad
Fleecy: No need. I love you so much.
Priam: your parents do not like our marriage.
Fleecy: Then I will leave them. I am leaving as they do not love me truly.
Julia; Dear, don’t leave us.
Finally Fleecy doesn’t listen to the man and woman. She is slipping into the daylight Priam followed her behind. Flee y sings you don’t love me well,
I must bid you farewell”
The old woman cried but the garden gate swung wide the icy cold draft sweep across the room. Priam touches Fleecy. Their union surges into spring. The snow melts into the eternal Spring. Fleecy went out to leap into the arms of her father Ice and mother Snow .
Winter’s daughter merged into the great North.
